NEWS UPDATE by Nob, JF2MBF.

We have given up both 160m and 80m. All bands are full of noise around 6pm till morning.

This is my 4th visit to Tuvalu and 1st time to stay at Vaiaku Lagi Hotel where many hams have enjoyed in the past.

BUT I do NOT recommend this QTH any more to those who plan to operate in T2. A view from the hotel is not the same as T2GM’s QSL card. They made huge ground in front of hotel (toward lagoon) with white sand. It is owned and managed by T2 government.

There are many lamps on the ground. When they are ON around 6pm, all bands through 160m to 10m become full of S9+ noise in USB mode. (S7 in CW mode).

Because of above reasons, we have GIVEN UP to put up 80m and 160m antenna. We feel very sorry for those who have expected T2 on the bands.

Nous avons à la fois 160m et 80m. Toutes les bandes sont pleines de bruit autour de 18 heures jusqu’au matin.

Ceci est ma 4ème visite à Tuvalu et le 1er temps de rester au Vaiaku Lagi Hôtel où beaucoup de jambons ont bénéficié dans le passé

Mais je ne recommande pas de plus à ceux qui ont l’intention d’opérer dans T2 ce QTH. Une vue de l’hôtel est pas la même que la carte QSL de T2GM. Ils ont fait grand terrain en face de l’hôtel (vers le lagon) avec du sable blanc. Il est détenu et géré par le gouvernement T2.

Il y a beaucoup de lampes sur le terrain. Quand ils sont autour de 18 heures, toutes les bandes par le biais de 160m à 10m sont pleins de bruit de S9+ en mode USB. (S7 en mode CW).

Pour des raisons ci-dessus, nous avons renoncé à mettre en place l’antenne 80m 160m. Nous nous sentons très désolé pour ceux qui ont attendu T2 sur les bandes.

THE NORTHERN EUROPEAN PARTY WAGON IS NOW DEPARTING FINLAND, OCT.04.2016

• ALAND ISLANDS, OH0B

It is on Wednesday Oct. 05 that OH0B will be QRV for 5-days on all bands from the Aland Islands by Juha, OH1ND, Martti, OH2BH, and Ville, OH2MM/PY2ZEA. Activity will include the Scandinavian Activity Contest (SSB) on the weekend of Oct. 8/9.

• MARKET REEF, OJ0B

Then on Oct.23^rd it will be time to try a dry landing on Market Reef, West of the Aland
Islands, for a 7-day operation as OJ0B, by Toivo, ES2RR, Martti, OH2BH, Pertti, OH2PM, focusing on the low-bands and RTTY. This outing is targeted to cover the CQWW SSB Contest.

• AZORE ISLANDS, CR2BH

Between Oct. 12 and Oct.17, Martti, OH2BH/CU2KG will jump to the Azores and put his signal on the air specifically for the Oct. 15/16 weekend while converting the world renown CR2X site to its new application.

These are all BOTA (Birthday-On-The-Air) activities – DXCC counters at which Martti and his close friends have once gotten excited over and made them active with a major frequent presence.

OH0 for more than 40 years, OJ0 now for 48 years, and even the Azores Islands, as of today for 16 years.

In November the party will continue to the Caribbean for the actual 70th birthday in Antigua, V26BH, continuing to Dominica, J70BH for the week of the CQWW CW Contest.

Puis le 23 Oct ^rd il sera temps d’essayer un atterrissage sec sur le marché Reef, ouest du Aland
Îles, pour une opération de 7 jours comme OJ0B, par Toivo, ES2RR, Martti, OH2BH, Pertti, OH2PM, en se concentrant sur les bas-bandes et RTTY. Cette sortie est destinée à couvrir le SSB concours CQWW.

• AZORE ISLANDS, CR2BH

Entre le 12 octobre et 17 Oct, Martti, OH2BH / CU2KG sautera aux Açores et à mettre son signal sur l’air spécifiquement pour le week-end octobre 15/16 lors de la conversion du site CR2X de renommée mondiale à sa nouvelle application.

Ce sont tous (Birthday-On-The-Air) activités BOTA – compteurs DXCC à laquelle Martti et ses amis proches ont une fois obtenu excités sur et fait leur actif avec une présence fréquente majeure.

OH0 depuis plus de 40 ans, OJ0 maintenant 48 ans, et même les îles des Açores, à partir d’aujourd’hui 16 ans.

En Novembre, le parti va continuer à les Caraïbes pour le 70e anniversaire réelle à Antigua, V26BH, continuant à Dominique, J70BH pour la semaine de la CW Contest CQWW.

We had a great time [on the island] and will share more with you later. But, just wanted to say hello and let you know how much we appreciated you sharing photos and info to help us prepare. Also, many thanks to DX-World for promoting our operation.

Pileups never ended. JA’s – worked perhaps 3,000. As you know, difficult path but had some great openings. I’ll share some more as I get more time. For now, I am cleaning up the logs. We did post to LoTW, but still need worked on. QSL cards are in the design process so will be a little while yet before we begin sending. Attached a couple photo’s..again, thanks for all.

Sigi, DL7DF and crew will be active from Anguilla as VP2EGR between October 25 to November 7, 2016. They will be active with two stations from 160m through 10m on CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. Equipment consists of two transceivers K2, two OX1000 power amplifiers, a 18m lowband vertical, a 40m and a 30m loop, and Spiderbeam for 20m through 10m. More info here

Sigi, DL7DF et l’équipe sera actif à partir de Anguilla comme VP2EGR du 25 Octobre au 7 Novembre 2016. Ils seront actifs avec deux stations de 160m au 10m sur CW, SSB, RTTY et PSK31. UPDATE – Victor, WB0TEV, will be QRV as V31VP from the Maya Hill Villas in Blackman Eddy, Belize, October 6-11, (rather than later in the month as previously announced). Mostly SSB and RTTY and possibly some CW. Plans include participation in the NA SSB Sprint and the Makrothen RTTY contest.

October 2 @ 20:45z – The team continue their journey to Kanton. Progress has slowed due to harsh weather in the vicinity – resulting in a delay of 2 days to reach T31. All aboard are fine and send their greetings to the DX world.

September 26 – Yacht is ready for departure to Kanton Island. Mec, SP7VC is also ready! Track them here

September 23 – Currently active as 5W0DOI, 5W0VC and 5W9DX, look for Team T31T to sign /MM while sailing to Kanton Island. They leave port on Tuesday (September 27) with the voyage taking 5-6 days to reach T31.

Le 2 Octobre @ 20: 45z – L’équipe poursuivent leur voyage à Kanton. Des progrès ont ralenti en raison de conditions météorologiques difficiles dans les environs – résultant dans un délai de 2 jours pour atteindre T31. Tous sont à bord fin et envoient leurs salutations au monde DX.

NEWS UPDATE – Chas, NK8O informs DX-World that he will be operating holiday style in Zinga, Tanzania, from approximately 22 October 2016 through to 12 November 2016. Station will be 100 watts with elevated vertical antennas on 20-17-15 meters, and a doublet for 80-40-30 meters. Modes will mainly be CW, but I may venture to try PSK-31 and if the spirit moves me, I may try some SSB. There is also a possibility of portable QRP ops from Selous National Game Reserve between 28 October and 1 November, all CW. QSL information is on the 5H3DX at QRZ.com

Nouvelles Mise à Jour – NK8O informe DX-World qu’il sera opérationnel à Zinga, en Tanzanie, à partir du 22 Octobre 2016 jusqu’au 12 Novembre 2016. La station sera de 100 watts avec des antennes verticales sur 20-17-15 mètres, et un doublet pour le 80-40-30 mètres. Modes seront principalement CW, mais j’ose essayer PSK-31 et si l’esprit me déplace, je peut essayer certains SSB.
