NEWS UPDATE – We herewith have to inform the IOTA community that our Myanmar/XZ IOTA-DXpedition to some new IOTAs has to be delayed.
There were elections in Myanmar in November 2015 and we had to resubmit all our documentation. The new administration has now been selected but they need time to have new rules established.
All domestic logistics are in place through our local Myanmar contact. He is also in weekly contact with 3 different ministerial departments and has indicated to us that the first weeks of February 2017 seems to be a good time slot for our DXpedition.
We cannot push harder. We must be patient. But we have every hope of activating new Myanmar IOTAs. Therefore, our intention is to plan the DXpedition for February 2017 subject to the Myanmar authorities finally giving us permission.
We will give additional information as it comes.

DES NOUVELLES MISE À JOUR – Nous avons ci-joint pour informer la communauté IOTA que notre Myanmar / XZ IOTA-DXpedition New IOTAs doit être retardée.
Il y avait des élections au Myanmar en Novembre 2015 et nous avons dû soumettre à nouveau toute notre documentation. La nouvelle administration a été sélectionné, mais ils ont besoin de temps pour avoir de nouvelles règles établies.
Toute la logistique interne sont en place grâce à notre contact Myanmar local. Il est également en contact hebdomadaire avec 3 départements ministériels différents et nous a indiqué que les premières semaines de Février 2017 semble être une bonne tranche de temps pour notre DXpedition.
Nous ne pouvons pas pousser plus fort. Nous devons être patients. Mais nous avons tout espoir d’activation nouvelle Myanmar IOTA. Par conséquent, notre intention est de planifier le DXpedition pour Février 2017, sous réserve des autorités du Myanmar ont fini par nous donner la permission.
Nous allons donner des informations supplémentaires comme il vient.

Steve, WF2S will sign J68SL and Bob, WB2YQH will sign J6/WB2YQH from Gros Islet, St. Lucia October 18-27. They will use a K3S, and vertical antenna over salt water, plus other antennas.on all bands 80-10 meters, including WARC. Steve will be QRV on SSB, and digital modes–RTTY, PSK, JT65 and some CW while Bob will be mainly on CW and some SSB. Full QSL info is on QRZ.com under each callsign. Club Log is the preferred method for both Direct and Bureau cards and is accessible on their QRZ lookup. Logs will be uploaded upon their return home. J68SL will also upload to LoTW. Full color QSLs will be printed. Local support is provided by J69DS, J69MV, J66SJ, J66YMZ and the J6 Portable Group.

I will be taking a holiday on Kangaroo Island (IOTA OC-139) with the family, staying at Emu Bay on the north coast for a week starting the 10th of October through to the 16th of October 2016. I will be operating part time from the island as VK5GR/P. My principle interest is digital modes so you will mostly find me using RTTY, PSK, MFSK and any other digital mode that people want me to try! I can of course do SSB as well and depending on conditions you may find me there as well.
I will be using a multi-band fan dipole and have capability on at least 80m-15m (although 30 and 17m might not work very well). If I have room the 160m elements may also get added to the antenna. The rig is a Kenwood TS-690 with 100W.
I will prepare a special QSL card for the occasion (going to wait till I get home as I want to take some photos of KI to add to the card).
Ultimately this is a family holiday so operation will be spasmodic. I will post to the clusters when I am around so people know where to find me.

Je vais prendre des vacances sur Kangaroo Island (IOTA OC-139) avec la famille, notre séjour à Emu Bay sur la côte nord pour une semaine à partir du 10 Octobre jusqu’au le 16 Octobre 2016. Je serai exploitation à temps partiel de l’île comme VK5GR/P. Mon principe est l’intérêt des modes numériques de sorte que vous trouverez la plupart du temps moi en utilisant RTTY, PSK, MFSK et tout autre mode numérique que les gens veulent moi d’essayer! Je peux bien sûr que vous pouvez me trouver SSB aussi bien et en fonction des conditions aussi.
Je vais utiliser une antenne dipôle multi-bande et d’une capacité d’au moins 80m-15m (bien que 30 et 17m pourrait ne pas fonctionner très bien). Si je dois utilisé les 160m éléments peuvent également obtenir ajouté à l’antenne. L’éméteur est un Kenwood TS-690 avec 100W.
Je vais préparer une carte QSL spéciale pour l’occasion (va attendre jusqu’à ce que je rentre à la maison que je veux prendre quelques photos de KI à ajouter à la carte).
En fin de compte ce sont des vacances en famille donc opération sera sporadique. Je vais poster les lieux de sorte que les gens savent où me trouver.

NEWS UPDATE – John (KK7L) and Jared (N7SMI) will be underway to Tuvalu soon. We’ll be on the air Sept. 27 – Oct. 4 operating select band/mode combinations and listening intently for EU. We have donated a power generator to the Tuvalu Red Cross Society for emergency communications purposes. All donations go directly toward equipment for permanent amateur radio and emergency communications use in Tuvalu.
April 15, 2016 – KK7L and N7SMI will activate Tuvalu as T2R between September 27 – October 4, 2016. A primary focus of their DXpedition will be to provide training and equipment with intentions to establish a permanent and active Tuvalu Amateur Radio Club and emergency communications station. There are several licensed amateurs in Tuvalu. With the cooperation of the telecommunications authority, they will provide training and supplement on-island HF equipment to get a fully functional club station on the air. T2R will be the inaugural activation of this station. Donations will go directly to supporting Tuvaluan amateurs getting on the air. QSL via N7SMI. Details at T2Radio.com
Des Nouvelles Mise à Jour – John (KK7L) et Jared (N7SMI) seront en cours pour Tuvalu bientôt. Nous avons fait don d’un générateur de puissance à la Croix-Rouge de Tuvalu à des fins de communication d’urgence. Tous les dons vont directement vers l’équipement pour une utilisation permanente amateur de communications radio et d’urgence à Tuvalu.
Le 15 Avril 2016 – KK7L et N7SMI activeront Tuvalu T2R entre le 27 Septembre – Octobre 4, 2016. Un objectif principal de leur DXpedition sera de fournir une formation et de l’équipement avec des intentions d’établir une station Tuvalu Amateur Radio Club et les communications d’urgence permanente et active. Il y a plusieurs amateurs autorisés à Tuvalu. Avec la collaboration de l’autorité des télécommunications, ils fourniront une formation et de compléter l’équipement de HF sur l’île pour obtenir une station de club entièrement fonctionnel sur l’air. K2SX, W2LK, W1UU and WA6O plan to be operating from Josiah’s Bay B&B (run by VP2VQ) near Road Town, Tortola from Nov. 22nd through Nov. 29th. During the CQWW CW contest they have been issued the call VP2VI in honor of Bob Dennison’s contributions to DXing and the ARRL in general. We will be operating the contest as either M/S or M/2. Outside the contest, we will be using VP2V/home call. QSL info will be determined shortly. Prior to our arrival in VP2V we will all be staying in St. Thomas from Nov. 18th through Nov. 22nd but there are no current plans to be active on the air from KP2. More details to follow.
