The E3 is well known as one of the most rare countries. The entity still remains not open to Hams and DXers of the world. Zorro’s operation is regarded as an exception. His permission is officially granted by the authorities of the Eritrean Government in charge, but it is not given to the person simply working for the amateur radio only. NEWS UPDATE — Dindo DU1UD/8 has now arrived on Jolo Sulu IOTA OC-119. He will be QRV before/after work and weekends starting today.

APRIL 14, 2017 — Dindo, DU1UD is now in Zamboanga City waiting for appropriate transportation to Jolo Sulu (IOTA OC-119 Group Name: Jolo Group & claimed by: 11.8% of participants).

He will arrive on Jolo Sulu sometime in the next two weeks and is there as part of a work maintenance crew.

He will be QRV on HF using vertical antennas, a K3 and KPA500 PA.

Operations will be sporadic, in between work commitments and at this stage there is no date for him being QRT. He could be on Jolo Sulu for several weeks, possibly a month. His location is sensitive and therefore it’s not appropriate to have an operating schedule.

He will try to benefit all continents dependent on propagation during the times he has available.

Il arrivera sur Jolo Sulu au cours des deux prochaines semaines et y participera dans le cadre d’un groupe de maintenance du travail.

Les opérations seront sporadiques, entre les engagements de travail et à ce stade, il n’y a pas de date pour laquelle il soit QRT. Il pourrait être sur Jolo Sulu pendant plusieurs semaines, peut-être un mois. Sa localisation est sensible et, par conséquent, il n’est pas approprié d’avoir un calendrier d’exploitation

Il essaiera de profiter à tous les continents en fonction de la propagation pendant les heures qu’il a disponibles.

DX-World.net has learned that a team of five IOTA activators is planning a 3-4 day activity from Baiyah Island AF-111P later this year. Dates to be determined.

A reconnaissance trip has been completed with vital information on this little known island being collated.
